How to Write a CV in English for BPO & Call Center Jobs
Published: 16 July 2026
Your CV is your first interview. For international BPO companies in Egypt, it must be in English, clear, and professional. This guide shows you how to build a CV that passes ATS filters and gets you the interview call.
Use a clean, ATS-friendly format
Recruiters at international companies use Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) to filter CVs. Use a single column, standard fonts (Inter, Arial, Calibri), clear headings, and avoid tables, images, or graphics that ATS cannot read.
Write a strong professional summary
In 2-3 lines, say who you are, what you offer, and what role you want. Example: 'Customer-focused professional with strong English communication skills and 1 year of retail experience. Seeking a call-center role with an international BPO in Egypt.'
Highlight communication and language skills
For BPO roles, English level matters. Add your CEFR level if known (A2, B1, B1+, B2) and mention any training like EIG's English Assessment or Train to Hire program.
Add measurable achievements
Numbers get attention. Instead of 'helped customers,' write 'handled 50+ customer inquiries per day with a 95% satisfaction score.' If you do not have numbers, describe your responsibilities clearly.
Tailor your CV to each job
Read the job post. If it asks for 'patience,' 'problem solving,' or 'experience with CRM tools,' use those exact phrases in your CV. This helps both ATS and human recruiters.
Keep it one page
For entry-level call-center and customer service roles, one page is enough. Recruiters spend less than 30 seconds on the first scan. Make every line count.
Proofread out loud
Spelling mistakes in an English CV are a red flag. Read it aloud, use Grammarly or a similar tool, and ask a friend to check it. One mistake can cost you the interview.
Free CV review for EIG students
EIG's Train to Hire program includes CV writing and interview preparation as part of the course. Students learn how to present their skills in English and practice with mock interviews.
